I have been teaching for over 6 years as a tutor to children as young as 5 right through all school ages to University students and trainee teachers!

My approach is all about making maths and science accessible, fun and memorable. I am a qualified coach so use the principles from that to enable students to develop an inner confidence and self-awareness that reaches out into other areas of their education and beyond.

I am also a fully qualified geek! I genuinely love maths and science and never tire of helping someone else find a little bit more enthusiasm for the subject whether that's through the experiments we talk about (and do if we can!) or the New Scientist magazines I throw at them, my students really do jump onboard and get messy with maths and science!

What is central to my work is that it empowers the student to take responsibility for their work. They choose what to work on because they know better than anyone what their wobbly areas are. By giving students the ownership of the sessions, they feel a huge sense of satisfaction when they progress and achieve their goals. Confidence boosting is at the heart of my work, if they BELIEVE they can do hard questions, they can.
